Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian musician and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 and received a lot of praise from bloggers as well as the media. The singer has released a number of high-profile covers, such as Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which were widely appreciated. Her name was also recognized through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering a piano in her attic and being fascinated by the sounds it would create. Her parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a profession or a pastime, but as a way to develop. They advised her to compose. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen as well as Bjork as her main influences. Her mother encouraged her to perform her music in front of the public, but not so that she could gain fame but rather to help others realize that they matter and how they can make a difference for humanity. The mother of her child suggested that she perform her songs publicly in order to make people aware of their importance and the ways they impact the world. It was unknown to her family until she turned fourteen. Aurora's accomplishments were never the goal of her. As she says, she loves writing music. She believes that music is the only method of feeling anything.
